![]() Add Ring Alarm security devices, Security Cameras, and Video Doorbells, all sold separately, to help protect your entire home. The system and plan isn’t for everyone, again though it more than just $20 for local storage, it’s unlimited cloud stargaze for all devices, it’s fully extended warranty on all you devices, it’s full internet backup in case your internet goes down, it’s fully monitored system and quite a bit more. Alarm Pro Base Station combines whole-home protection, a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router, and network security in one. ![]() They haven’t tried to hide the fact you need the plus plan for the local storage. I do however wonder why they haven’t given a local storage only price plan, some people who may not want things in the cloud would possibly pay to save it locally. I mean it’s full base station and eero router in one. I don’t think they will be making a lot from the base station for a sale point. If it continues to stay stuck in 24/7 Backup Internet, there are a few actions you can take to troubleshoot this issue. You could steal the base station I suppose or the SD card again, but I’m not sure if you can choose to store it in the cloud as well as locally?īeing they were/are primarily a cloud/subscription system they were never going to give that fully up as most people would just upgrade the base station and not pay for the storage. Once your internet service is restored, your Alarm Pro Base Station should resume its normal connection. This has some advantages over standard SD card based cameras, in this you steal the camera or card and you have all the evidence. I can kinda see what your saying but some of the comparisons are off, also I’m assuming of you have spent $1300 you would be paying for the plus plan anyway.įrom a consumers POV we want as much as we can for free, however rings eco system is cloud based. I got till January to return all this and go with another system that doesn't charge you for stuff that should be free. Its not enough I spent 1300 dollars on all your products around my home ring? You have to charge me for the priviledge of using my hardware at the hardware level to? the phone manufactures still make profit so that is not a valid excuse for this. This is the equivalent of buying a phone with a SD card slot, and if you wanted to use it for storage the phone manufacture wants to charge you 20 a monthĪfter all we could use the same argument that the phone manufactures would lose money if they don't. Other camera security systems let you store free on a SD card on your purchased hardware for free. I understand them charging for cloud storage, Backup internet and professional monitoring service but everything else should be included free with the hardware we purchased. ![]() I just think it is really shady of ring and Jeff Bezos to charge people 20 a month to store stuff on the local hardware we purchased.
